How to insert QR and barcodes into a Writer document?
Overview
- Inserting static QR codes and barcodes
- Customizing appearance (size, color, border, style)
- Using merge fields to dynamically generate codes in bulk documents.
Steps
1. Insert QR Code

Go to Insert Tab --> QR & Barcode --> QR Code.

In the Insert QR Code dialog, choose the QR type (e.g. text, URL, etc.) and click Insert.
2. Insert Bar Code
Go to Insert Tab --> QR & Barcode --> Barcode
In the Insert Bar Code dialog:
Select a barcode format from the dropdown list
Enter the data you want to encode
Click Insert
3. Edit QR / Barcode (after inserting)

Click the inserted code (it is treated like an image):
The Barcode Options panel opens on the right pane. It includes options to Resize the image , Change color or background, Add borders, Adjust alignment / arrangement, and more.
