How to insert and use Auto Fields in Zoho Writer

Overview

AutoFields are dynamic fields that automatically add and update information such as current date, page number, page count, document created time, name or version. They can also display future and past dates relative to the current date. These fields are incredibly useful in templates, contracts, and mail merges, as they eliminate the need for manual entry and ensure accuracy.

These fields include:

The Todays date and Dynamic Todays date , which can either stay static or update dynamically each time the document is opened
Page numbers and page count
Creation date or last modified date
Document metadata such as title, author, version
Custom date fields that let you add or subtract days, months, or years from a reference date

Steps to insert Auto Fields

Click where you want the auto field to appear.
Go to Fields tab.
Choose an auto field to be inserted (Date, Page Number, Page Count, Author or Document Name, etc.). For example, if you want to add the current date, click on the date field. Make sure you place the cursor in the required place in your document before inserting the auto fields.

Format Page Number or Count	In Fields tab, choose the Page Number. Choose to insert the page number in the header or footer from the drop-down. Select Format Page Number from the drop-down menu to change the position and style of the inserted page number. Click Remove Page Numbers to remove all the page numbers from the document.
Document Title, Version, or Author	Insert the document's title , document version number, or the document's author name
Custom Date field	Dynamic date field that can be adjusted by adding or subtracting days, months, or years, and the date displayed in the document updates automatically based on the new calculation. Learn more
