Migrate from Slack to Cliq

Continue your conversations in Cliq right from where you left off in Slack by migrating your data from Slack to Cliq.

To export your data from Slack:
  1. Click on your workspace in the left side of the screen and select Settings & Administration.
  2. In the options that appear, select Workspace settings.
Note: The data you can export from Slack depends on your Slack plan. 

  1. Click Import/export data button next to Settings & permissions.

  1. Under the Export tab, select the date range and click Start export button. Click Ready to download and your data will be downloaded in your system as a zip file.

AlertError when trying to upload zip file - This happens when you have exported data without enabling Email address display under Workspace Settings. You can fix this by clicking Expand, and selecting whether you want members and guests or people from organization that you're connected to display email address.

 

To import your data to Cliq:
  1. Click on the Contact image and under My Organization and select Import from Slack.


Note: Migrate your Data will be available only to Cliq admins. 
  1. You will be guided on how to export your Cliq data. Drag and drop or upload the zip folder that contains the exported data and click Start Import.

  1. Slack Channels will be imported as Cliq Channels. Select the channels you want to import and click Next.  

  1. Pick your channels to import them as Organization Channels or Team Channels. Click Start Import to complete your migration.

  1. The users imported successfully will receive an email inviting them to Cliq. On clicking the CTA button in that mail they will be navigated to your Cliq organization.
  2. The migrated channels will be imported to your Cliq account and you can access them under your channels.
Common Failures:
  1. If the users belong to a different DC.
  2. If the user is already a Cliq user.

Note:
  1. Importing data more than once can result in data duplication, which may be difficult to clean up. Please ensure that data is imported only once to avoid complications.
