You can start a chat with users in your organization and external Cliq users.

Start a chat with:

1. Users in the chat list

• Click Chats in the left side bar.
• A list of recent conversations with users will appear.
• Click on a username.

2. Users in a Channel

• Click Channels in the left side bar.
• A list of channels categorized based on the channel levels will appear.
• Click a Channel name.

3. Users in your contacts

• Click Contacts in the left side bar.
• A list of contacts will appear.
• Click the Contact name to initiate a conversation.

4. Users within the organization, but not in your contacts

• Search the username in the search bar of the header.
• Click on the direct message icon, Chat with user button or username.
• Read to know more on how to chat with users within your organization without adding them as a Contact.

5. Users in a new channel that you are yet to join

• Click on Channels, select the kebab icon(3 dots) 
• Select Join Channel.
• Type the Channel name and select Join. You will become a part of the channel.

6. Bots

• Click Bots in the left side bar.
• Under Bots you will find a list of bots you have subscribed to.
• Click a Bot name.

A chat window appears in all of the instances above. It provides several ways to communicate and collaborate.  Start a chat by typing in what you want to share.
