Creating a community dashboard

Creating a community dashboard

Create a community dashboard

  1. From your Home page, click Create dashboard.

  2. Choose Community Dashboard.

  3. Enter a clear name in the Name field (for example, Community Dashboard) and click Create.

  4. Click Build now to open the dashboard editor.

The dashboard editor allows you to design the layout and add widgets. A new community dashboard will open, ready for you to customise.

Add widgets

Dashboards are built from widgets. To add a widget to the community dashboard:
  1. In the dashboard editor, access Widgets.

  2. Use the Search bar in the Widgets panel to find a specific widget.

  3. Drag and drop your chosen widget onto the dashboard canvas, or double‑click it in the list to add it automatically.

Zoho CommunitySpaces supports two types of widgets:
  1. Custom widgets – Use these to display static information such as text, images or video. For example, you could add a gallery widget to showcase pictures from a community event.
  2. System widgets – These display dynamic, real‑time data from across your community. System widgets pull information from modules like Feeds, Spaces, Forums, Events, Town Hall, Polls, Manuals, Tasks, and Gamification. For example, the My Spaces widget lists the spaces you belong to, while the Gamification widgets highlights top members and achievement points.

Configure widgets

After adding a widget, you can configure its appearance and behavior:
  1. Properties – In the Properties panel, you can:
    - Set the Widget Title
    - Choose
    Views
    -
Display images / description from the post
    - Select a space as its
    data source
    - Decide whether members can create posts directly from the widget by enabling the Show the add new icon option and
    -
Set the Display limit (number of items to be listed in the widget)

  2. Styles – In the Styles panel, customize the widget’s visual appearance. Modify the Fill Effect, Text Color, and Border radius to match your community’s theme.

  3. Advanced – In the Advanced menu, adjust scrolling and navigation settings. Options like auto‑scroll, scrolling speed and page controls determine how your widget behaves.

When you finish configuring a widget, drag it to the appropriate place on the dashboard. You can repeat these steps to add multiple widgets and build out the dashboard.
