Managing widgets and customising the community dashboard

Managing widgets and customising the community dashboard

Undo or redo changes

Dashboard editing is flexible. At any time during designing it, you can use the Undo and Redo buttons at the top of the editor to revert or reapply changes.

Add more widgets

To return to the widget selection screen:
  1. Click Widgets in the top‑left corner of the editor. This takes you back to the widget list.

  2. Drag and drop additional widgets or double‑click them to add them to the dashboard. You can add any custom widget multiple times, but each system widget can only be added only once.

Continue refining your dashboard until it contains the right mix of system and custom widgets.

Customize the dashboard's appearance

The Settings tab of the editor contains options to tailor the overall look of your dashboard:
  1. Full‑width view – Expand widgets to utilize the full width of the page for better visibility.
  2. Background colour – Apply a solid or gradient background color that matches your community’s branding.
  3. Font size and colour – Set the size and colour of widget titles to improve readability.
  4. Border radius – Round the corners of widgets to give them a softer look.
Experiment with these settings to create a cohesive visual experience. You can always revert changes using the Undo button if necessary.

Save, Preview, and Publish

Once you are satisfied with the dashboard design, you have several options:
  1. Save –Store your changes as a draft. Saving allows you to return later and continue editing without making the dashboard public.

  2. Preview & publish – See how the dashboard looks. If it meets your expectations, click Publish to make it available to the community.

  3. Close – If you decide not to keep your recent changes, select Close to exit the editor without saving.

By saving drafts or previewing before publishing, you can ensure your community dashboard looks polished when released to your members.

Edit or delete the dashboard layout

After your community dashboard is published, you can adjust its layout at any time:
  1. Click the gear icon in the bottom‑right corner of your dashboard to open the dashboard settings.

  2. Select Update info to change the dashboard name. Enter a new name in the Name field and click Update.

  3. Choose Edit layout to rearrange the widget placements in the layout editor. You can move widgets around to create a new arrangement without affecting their settings.

  4. If you have saved a draft layout without publishing it and later return to the dashboard editor, you will see a Switch to published version option.

Selecting this option will open a prompt to confirm switching to the published version of the dashboard. If you want to keep the current draft for later, click Save first, then choose Switch to published version. If you switch and then save or publish the already published dashboard, the draft you have been working on will be permanently lost.

    Notes
Always save your draft before switching to the published version if you intend to return to it later. Once you switch and publish again, the draft cannot be recovered.

  5. To clear all the widgets in the dashboard permanently, click Delete. Confirm the deletion to remove all widgets and customisations.

Info
Tip: You can revisit these options whenever you want to refresh the look of your dashboard. If you need a completely fresh start, you can also delete the dashboard as described above and build a new one from scratch.
