Understanding the dashboard in Zoho CommunitySpaces

What is the dashboard?

The dashboard is the home page for your community. It presents your most important updates and shortcuts in one place. Think of it as a bulletin board where you and your community members can view posts, forum discussions, events, polls, leader boards, quick links, images, and more. Dashboards provide a clear overview of everything that is happening in your community, from announcements to assigned tasks.

Types of dashboards

There are two ways to view and curate updates in Zoho CommunitySpaces:
  1. Community dashboard – A shared dashboard that is available to all members. Hosts and members with sufficient permissions can configure this dashboard for everyone.

  2. Personal dashboard – A personalised dashboard that each member can create for themselves. Personal dashboards allow members to track the updates and widgets that matter most to them.

Why dashboards matter

A well‑designed dashboard helps your community stay informed. With over 50 widgets available, you can create dashboards that suit different roles and highlight the information that matters most. Dashboards are the quickest way to see what’s new and to navigate directly to the relevant module.

Dashboards in action

Imagine you’ve just launched a new community for your customers. You want to provide a section that greets members with an overview of recent updates. As the host, you can create a community dashboard that displays the latest forum posts, upcoming events, and a leader board. Individual members can also build personal dashboards to follow the spaces and widgets they care about most. This article explains how dashboards work and how you can set up both community and personal dashboards.
