Creating and joining a Video Conference

Create a Video Conference

You can create a Video Conference in two ways:
  • Click the + icon in the top-right corner and select Video Conference
  • Click Video Conference from the right apps panel in the community

Then:

  1. Enter the session name.

  2. Choose whether to start immediately or schedule it for a future date.

  3. Select who can attend.

  4. Choose to record the session for members to watch later.

  5. Click Create / Schedule.

NotesKnow the participants limit

A Video Conference supports up to 100 participants at a time. If the room is full, additional participants must wait until someone leaves the session.

Open and manage a scheduled video conference

After scheduling a video conference, you can open it either from the Events calendar or from the corresponding post on the Community Wall or inside the relevant space feed.

Click the video conference event in the calendar to view its session details, edit, delete or start it immediately.

You can also visit the corresponding feed wall post to review the same conference information. Depending on your permissions, the video conference post shows these per-post actions:

  • Copy conference URL

  • Edit this Post

  • Bookmark

  • Pin this post

  • Disable comments

  • Delete

The event host can edit the conference information from both the calendar info view and the corresponding feed post. This includes the session name, session time, invitees, and recording preference. Click Update to save the changes.

The Host can also start the session immediately using Start Now.

Join a Video Conference

You can join a Video Conference in three ways:

  • Open the calendar and click Session invite.

  • Open the event post in My Feed and click Join.

  • Use the LIVE indicator shown at the top-left corner when the session is ongoing.

Understand the live experience

The Video Conference interface is similar to a live broadcast layout, but with one key difference. In a Video Conference, participants can freely:

  • Unmute and speak

  • Turn their camera on

  • Share their screen

  • React using emojis

This makes it feel like a regular online meeting for community members.
