Understanding upcoming sessions and managing Town Hall settings

Understand upcoming sessions

Open Upcoming from the Town Hall dashboard or the left navigation panel to review scheduled sessions before they go live.

Differentiate Q&A and live Broadcast sessions

You can quickly identify a live Broadcast session by the video icon shown on the session tile and if it is a Public or Private town hall session.

For an upcoming Q&A session:
  • Members can view the session details in advance
  • Members can post questions only when the session starts and moves to Ongoing

For an upcoming Live Broadcast session:
  • Members can start posting questions immediately, even before the session starts
  • Hosts and panelists can review questions in advance and prepare responses before the broadcast begins

Open the session management menu

  1. Open the Town Hall session.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

The options you see depend on your role in the session.

Use session management options

These options are available from the session-level three-dot menu:
  • Follow- Lets invited participants receive notifications whenever new questions are posted.
  • Notification Preferences- Lets organizers and panelists fine-tune how they receive alerts when questions are added. You can choose Push, Email, or both.

  1. Manage- Lets the Town Hall creator and community hosts update session details such as name, description, tags, invitees, panelists, and answer settings.

Under Manage, what you can edit depends on the session status:
