Setting recipient identity verification via European Union eID (EU eID)

Available only in Enterprise Edition

Most of us have validated our identity with a driver's license, national ID cards, or other IDs while creating our bank account or when purchasing a new property. Likewise, it is important to verify one's identity before accessing and signing important business documents to avoid fraudulent transactions and achieve higher compliance.

Zoho Sign now supports identity verification of recipients in the European Union with their EU eID. Some of the key benefits of enabling the identity verification via EU eID:

  1. 100% verification of signer's identity
  2. Fully compliant with eIDAS
This method is recommended over the standard recipient authentication methods like SMS, email, and offline, as it verifies the signer's identity. At present, Zoho Sign supports three eID procedures:
  1. beID (Belgian eID)
  2. iDIN (Dutch eID)
  3. Personalausweis (nPA) Authentication (German National ID card)
