Lead time variation

Lead time variation reports

Lead time refers to the timeframe of an item being added or moved to the board and its eventual completion. Kanban reports in Zoho Sprints use this metric to measure the time taken for the actual work performed on the tasks on the board. This graphic report is based on the average duration taken for items to be completed.

What the report shows?

  1. This report shows the weekly trend by tracking the average, minimum, and maximum cycle lead of items on the board.
  2. X-axis denotes the end dates of the items by week.
  3. Y-axis denotes the lead time of the items that were completed.
  4. Maximum, minimum, and average lead times are represented as individual lines.
  5. Each item type line plots the lead time based on the items completed for a particular week.
Info
Example

Let's assume you have an inventory management application that solves your customer requirement to procure, stock, and distribute goods. You have multiple tasks and bug fixes that need to be rolled out periodically and iteratively. The kanban board provides you with the mechanism to track, monitor, and deliver your work items.

The lead time is the time from when an item is added to the board to the time it is moved to the final status to denote completion. Using this report, you will be able to view the maximum amount of duration and minimum amount of duration taken for item completion. Along with these, the average duration for the selected date rage is also generated in the report.

For instance, if you have 10 items on the board, with maximum lead time of 20 days and minimum lead time of 9 days, your average lead time is 13 days and 8 hours.

Insights

  1. You can obtain the average lead time of items for a preferred date range.
  2. You can track the maximum and duration taken for item completion on a weekly basis.

Report table

The table below the report provides you with a summary view of the details plotted on the graph or chart. The table captures the weekly date range, the average, minimum, and maximum lead times for each date range. Apart from this, there is a tabular view of the work items within the mentioned period along with their lead times.
