Destination Landing Pages | Zoho TouchPoint

Destinations - Part II

1. Overview

This article covers the five simple destination types in Zoho TouchPoint. Unlike the destinations covered in the Destinations - Part I article, these are quick to set up and designed for straightforward actions, such as redirecting to a webpage, sharing contact details, directing to an app store, or opening a messaging app.

DestinationWhat it doesTypeSetup time
Website URLRedirects to any webpage you chooseFreeUnder 1 minute

Instant EmailOpens a compose window with your email pre-filledPROUnder 1 minute

NOTE

Pro destinations count individually toward your plan's destination limit (25 on Standard, 200 on Enterprise, 600 on Ultimate). Free destinations can be created without limit, subject only to your plan's storage allowance. Look for the Pro label on destination cards in the selector to identify which type applies.

2. Website URL

The Website URL destination redirects anyone who taps, scans, or clicks your touchpoint directly to a webpage of your choice. It is the simplest destination, with no design required, just a URL.

Setting up a Website URL destination

  1. Select Show a website from the Send people somewhere group on the destination page when setting your destination.
  2. Enter the full URL of the webpage you want visitors to land on, including https://. This can be any publicly accessible webpage: your company website, a product page, a campaign landing page, a Google Form, a Calendly link, or anything else.
  3. Click Add Website to confirm. The destination will be immediately active for any mode it is assigned to.

TIP

Website URL is the most flexible destination. It works with any tool, platform, or page. If you already have a booking page on Calendly, a form on Typeform, or a product page on Shopify, you can use them as TouchPoint destinations instantly without rebuilding anything.

Use cases

🏠 Company homepage

A QR code on printed materials pointing to your company website, for visitors who want to learn more.

📦 Product page

A QR code on product packaging pointing to a specific product page with specifications, reviews, and add-to-cart.

🎥 Video or demo

An NFC card at an event pointing to a YouTube product demo or explainer video.

📰 Campaign landing page

A QR code in a print ad pointing to a dedicated campaign landing page with offer details and a CTA.

3. vCard

A vCard destination lets people save your contact details directly to their phone's contacts app with a single tap, no typing required. It creates a standard VCF (Virtual Contact File) that works with all smartphones.

NOTE

A vCard is a one-way exchange. Your contact details go to the visitor, but you receive nothing in return. If you want to collect the visitor's details as well, use a Profile destination with an Exchange Contact button, or a Lead Magnet Form.

Setting up a vCard destination

  1. Select Let them save your contact from the Share who you are group on the destination page.
  2. Complete the fields you want to share: name, job title, company, phone numbers (work and mobile), email, website, and address. Add a profile photo and your social media links. Only fill in the fields you want visible to the person saving your contact.
  3. Save the vCard. It is ready to assign to an NFC card, Digital Card, QR code, or short link.

TIP

You can update your vCard details at any time, such as if your phone number or job title changes. The update will apply immediately to all touchpoints using that vCard. No reprinting or resharing required.

Use cases

📇 Quick contact share

An email signature CTA pointing to a vCard, so email recipients can save your number without typing.

🏷 Product label

A QR code on a product or package pointing to a vCard with your support or sales contact.

🪂 Digital Card backup

A Digital Card with a vCard destination, so visitors scan and save your contact directly from your phone screen.

🤝 Simple networking

An NFC card at a casual meeting pointing to a vCard, for a frictionless tap-to-save experience.

4. App Download

The App Download destination automatically routes the visitor to the correct app store based on the device they are using: Google Play Store for Android devices and Apple App Store for iOS devices. The visitor lands directly on your app's store listing, ready to download.

Setting up an App Download destination

  1. Choose Let people download your app from the Drive action group on the destination page.
  2. Paste your Apple App Store URL and your Google Play Store URL. You can add one or both. If only one is provided, all visitors will be redirected to that store regardless of device.
  3. Click Add App Link to confirm. The destination will be immediately active.

TIP

App Download is one of the best uses of a QR code on physical product packaging. When a customer unboxes your product and scans the code, they land directly on your app listing, with no searching required. The device-detection routing means one QR code works for all your customers regardless of whether they use Android or iOS.

Use cases

📦 Product packaging

A QR code inside a product box pointing to an App Download destination, directing customers straight to your app to register or get started.

🍕 Restaurant and retail

A QR code on a table, counter, or receipt pointing to your order or loyalty app download, bypassing marketplace commissions.

📢 Marketing campaigns

A QR code on posters, flyers, or OOH advertising pointing to your app store listing with a clear download CTA.

🎪 Events

A QR code on event signage or a badge pointing to an event companion app download for schedules, maps, and networking.

5. Instant Message

The Instant Message destination opens a messaging app on the visitor's phone with your phone number and a pre-written message already filled in. The visitor simply hits send, with no typing and no searching for your contact. It supports both native SMS and WhatsApp.

Setting up an Instant Message destination

  1. Choose Let people message you instantly from the Drive action group on the destination page.
  2. Enter the number you want to receive messages on, including the country code. For example, +91 9876543210.
  3. Open the Select Platform dropdown and choose either Instant Message (native SMS) or WhatsApp. The default is native Instant Message.
  4. Enter the message that will be pre-loaded in the visitor's messaging app. Keep it natural and contextual, for example "Hello, nice to meet you!" or "Hi, I'd like to know more about your services." The visitor can edit it before sending.
  5. Click Update Destination. A live preview on the right will show exactly how the messaging screen will appear on a visitor's phone. Confirm and save.

Native SMS vs WhatsApp: which should I use?

NOTE

WhatsApp uses Meta's standard wa.me/[number] deep-link format to open the chat. No WhatsApp Business API account is required. This works with any standard WhatsApp-registered number.

Use cases

🏪 Retail storefront

A QR code on a shop window opening a WhatsApp chat for enquiries, even when the store is closed.

🤝 Networking

An NFC card at a conference opening an instant WhatsApp message, so new contacts can reach you immediately.

🛠 Customer support

A QR code at a service counter opening a WhatsApp chat pre-filled with "Hi, I need help with my order".

📋 Service businesses

An NFC card or QR code opening a WhatsApp enquiry for quotes, bookings, or questions.

6. Instant Email

The Instant Email destination opens the visitor's native email app with your email address already filled in the To field. The visitor can write their message and send immediately, with no need to type or copy your email address.

Setting up an Instant Email destination

  1. Choose Let people email you instantly from the Drive action group on the destination page.
  2. Enter the email address you want enquiries sent to. This will be pre-filled in the To field of the visitor's email compose window.
  3. Pre-fill the email subject to help categorize incoming messages, for example "Enquiry from TouchPoint" or "Trade Show Lead". This is optional, but helps with email organization and filtering.
  4. Click Set up email to confirm. The destination is immediately active.

TIP

Use a pre-filled subject line to make inbound emails from touchpoints easy to filter and track in your inbox. For example, a QR code on your trade show stand could pre-fill the subject as "Trade Show Enquiry - [Event Name]". This makes it immediately clear where the lead came from without any manual tagging.

IMPORTANT

Instant Email opens the visitor's native email app. If the visitor has not set up an email app on their phone, the link may not open. For contexts where most of your audience is likely to be on mobile without a configured email app, Instant Message (WhatsApp) is a more reliable alternative.

Use cases

🖨 Printed stationery

A QR code on letterhead, a business card, or a brochure opening an instant email compose window with your address pre-filled.

✉ Email signature

A CTA button in an email signature pointing to a secondary email address or a department inbox for specific enquiry types.

🏢 Office signage

A QR code at reception or in meeting rooms opening an instant email to the relevant contact or department.

🎪 Event follow-up

An NFC card at an exhibition opening an instant email pre-filled with an event-specific subject line for easy tracking.
