Vertical Studio - Zoho Survey integration

The integration between Vertical Studio and Zoho Survey allows you to create, distribute, and manage surveys directly using data from your Vertical Studio application. This integration helps you collect structured feedback from customers, prospects, or internal users and link survey responses with records in your Vertical Studio modules.

By connecting Zoho Survey with your Vertical Studio subscriber account, you can send surveys to contacts or leads, track responses, and use the collected data to improve engagement, customer satisfaction, and decision-making.

  • This integration is available only for Vertical Studio subscriber accounts. It cannot be configured from the Developer Console.
  • The integration can only be initiated from the Vertical Studio subscriber account. It cannot be initiated from Zoho Survey.

Prerequisites

Before setting up the integration, ensure that you have an active Vertical Studio subscriber account with administrator permissions. If you already have a Zoho Survey account, you can use it during the integration. If you do not have one, a new Zoho Survey account will be automatically created during the integration process.

Setting up the Integration

You can initiate the Zoho Survey integration only from the Vertical Studio subscriber account.

To set up the integration:

  1. Log in to your Vertical Studio subscriber account with Administrator privileges.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Marketplace > Zoho > Zoho Survey
  3. Click Get Started Now
  4. Review the consent screen, which lists the permissions required for the integration and click on Proceed
  5. Give the necessary details, add users if required, select the modules to which Zoho Survey can be sent, and click on Done. For detailed steps, refer here.

Once the set up is complete, your Vertical Studio account will be connected with Zoho Survey. After the integration is enabled, you can begin creating surveys and associating them with records in your Vertical Studio application.

Building and sending Surveys

Once the integration is active, you can create surveys and distribute them to records stored in your Vertical Studio modules.

Typical use cases include:

  • Collecting customer satisfaction feedback
  • Gathering post-purchase survey responses
  • Conducting market research
  • Collecting internal feedback from teams

Once a survey is created in Zoho Survey, you can send it to prospects or customers directly from your Vertical Studio application.

You can send a survey in two ways:

  • Append a survey while composing an email
  • Send a survey from the related list of a record

Append a Survey to an Email

You can insert a survey link directly while composing an email.

To append a survey in an email:

  1. Open the email compose window from a record.
  2. Insert the survey link or use an email template containing the survey.
  3. Send the email to the recipient.

The survey link will be included in the email, allowing recipients to respond directly.

After successfully integrating Zoho Survey with Vertical Studio, a Zoho Survey related list becomes available in modules where emailing is supported.

To send a survey from a record:

  1. Open the desired record.
  2. From the related lists, select Survey

Creating a Survey Email Template

Since surveys are typically sent via email, you can create an email template that includes a survey link. This allows you to quickly insert and send surveys without manually adding the link each time.

To create a survey email template:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Customization > Templates > Email Templates
  2. Click New Template
  3. Select the module
  4. Enter template details
  5. Click Insert Link
  6. Select Zoho Survey
  7. Select survey and display text
  8. Click Save

You can then use this template when sending emails.

Managing the Integration

You can manage or disable the Zoho Survey integration from the Vertical Studio subscriber account.

To access the integration settings:
  1. Log in to your Vertical Studio subscriber account.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Marketplace > Zoho > Zoho Survey
  3. Select Manage.
From here, administrators can review the integration configuration, add users or update the module section if required.

Disabling the Integration

If the integration is no longer required, administrators can disable it.

To disable the integration:
  1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > Zoho > Zoho Survey.
  2. Click Manage.
  3. Select Disable. A confirmation window will appear asking you to confirm the deactivation and choose how to handle existing survey-related campaign data. Select one of the following options:
    1. Retain data : Campaigns and their components that were created using surveys will be retained in Vertical Studio.
    2. Delete data permanently: All campaigns associated with Zoho Survey will be moved to offline campaigns and the integration-related data will be removed.
  4. Click Confirm to proceed.
Once the integration is deactivated, Vertical Studio will no longer communicate with Zoho Survey.

Q: Can the Zoho Survey integration be initiated from Zoho Survey?

 A: No. The integration can only be initiated from the Vertical Studio subscriber account. It cannot be initiated from Zoho Survey.

Q: Can this integration be configured from the Vertical Studio Developer Console?

 A: No. The Zoho Survey integration is available only in subscriber accounts. It is not supported in the Developer Console.

Q: Do I need a Zoho Survey account before enabling the integration?

 A: No. If you do not already have a Zoho Survey account, one will be automatically created during the integration process.

Q: What happens to surveys and related campaigns if the integration is deactivated?
