Accounting on the Go Series-40: Simplify Payments with M-PESA Gateway Integration in Zoho Books Mobile App in Kenya Edition

Hello everyone!

As you all know, Zoho Books lets you handle your payment processes by receiving online payments for your invoices. Today, we're excited to introduce a feature that will help Kenyan business owners streamline their payment processes: M-PESA gateway integration, specifically available for the Kenya edition of Zoho Books.

Zoho Books now integrates with Safaricom M-PESA, a popular mobile phone-based money transfer service in Kenya. This integration simplifies the payment process for your customers, making it easier and more convenient for them to settle their invoices.

Once you enable the M-PESA payment option and send an invoice, your customers can pay directly from the customer portal or through the invoice link you’ve provided. A default M-PESA payment mode will be added to your Zoho Books organization, ensuring you choose the right payment mode for seamless transactions. You can also set it up in the mobile app and start receiving your payments right away.

How it works in the Zoho Books iOS app:

➤ Open the Zoho Books iOS app.
➤ Navigate to the "More".
➤ Scroll down to Settings and then select "Online Payments”.
➤ Choose "Safaricom M-Pesa M-PESA" from the list of available payment gateways.
➤ Follow the prompts to configure your M-PESA account details.
➤ Your M-PESA account will be integrated with Zoho Books.







 
How it works in Zoho Books Android application:

➤ Open the Zoho Books Android app.
➤ Navigate to Settings, and select “Online Payment Gateways”.
➤ Choose "Safaricom M-Pesa" from the list of available payment gateways.
➤ Follow the prompts to configure your M-PESA account details.
➤ Your M-PESA account will be integrated with Zoho Books.





 
In fact, when you first sign up in the Android application, the option to configure M-PESA is prominently displayed on the Home screen. This makes it easier for new users to connect to this payment gateway without having to navigate through settings.

Once set up, every time you send an invoice, your customers will see M-PESA as a payment option. They can make payments directly from the invoice link or customer portal, making the process smooth and efficient for both parties.
