Automatic Retry Mechanism for Failed Workflows in Zoho CRM

Automatic Retry Mechanism for Failed Workflows in Zoho CRM

Dear Zoho Team,

I hope you're well.

We would like to request a new feature for Zoho CRM workflows that introduces an automatic retry mechanism. At times, workflows fail due to temporary issues, such as "Returned error code - Socket Timeout" or other connection-related errors. Currently, the only way to handle these failures is through manual intervention, which can be time-consuming and inefficient.

Feature Request:
We propose adding an option to automatically retry failed workflows. This mechanism should allow users to define:

  1. Retry Attempts (Y): How many times the workflow should attempt to run again after failure.
  2. Waiting Time (X): The interval (in minutes) between each retry attempt.

Use Case:
When an external system, API call, or server temporarily fails, the workflow should not remain failed indefinitely. Instead, the retry mechanism will help recover from temporary glitches, such as network hiccups or server downtimes. For example, if a workflow fails, it could be configured to retry 3 times with a 5-minute interval between each attempt.

Benefits:

  1. Improved Resilience: Reduces manual effort in monitoring and rerunning failed workflows.
  2. Operational Continuity: Ensures important actions are not missed due to temporary system issues.
  3. Time-Saving: Frees up operational teams by automating retries.
  4. Enhanced Reliability: Increases trust in the system, as tasks are automatically reattempted without human intervention.

We believe this feature will greatly enhance the reliability and efficiency of workflow management in Zoho CRM.

Thank you for your consideration, and please feel free to reach out if additional information is required.

Best regards,
Ram
