Email Deliverability Tip #6: Avoid getting marked as spam
In the previous post, we learned about the importance of domain authentication. Today we'll be learning best practices to avoid getting marked as spam.
Ever wondered why your emails are marked as spam even though you stuck to your regular sending practices? Your emails could be marked as spam for reasons including offering irrelevant content, employing poor sending practices, or experiencing technical issues in the receiving server. While crafting your email content and sending your emails, you can follow these hygienic practices to avoid your emails being marked as spam:
- Use the double opt-in process to get consent before sending emails.
- Don't offer content that is irrelevant to your contact's needs, interests, age, or gender.
- Avoid using spam trigger words like buy, order, or discount in your campaigns.
- Avoid using shortened URLs, URLs with multiple redirects, and URLs of blacklisted domains and websites.
- Provide the option to unsubscribe.
