Email outbox is now available in the sandbox

Hello all! 
 
Testing emails without visibility has always been a blind spot in the sandbox. With the new Outbox, that gap is closed. You can now view and verify every email triggered from your sandbox, whether it’s through workflows, approvals, or mass communication, before anything goes live.


 
Outbox Categories 
Available under Data Administration, the Outbox neatly organizes emails into two categories: 
  1. All: Every email sent from the sandbox
  2. Unread emails: Messages not yet opened
Apart from the categories, the emails are also categorized based on the mode in which they were sent, for example Individual email, or an email from a workflow. This helps you quickly identify the purpose of the email or get details on how it was sent.


 
Email Details 
 
Each email in the outbox list includes key details like the subject, the mode of triggering (e.g., Workflow), and the record it originated from. The record name, along with its module, is shown as a clickable link, so you can quickly jump in for a closer look.



You’ll only see emails for records you have access to, in line with your role-based permissions. For a more focused review, you can filter emails by module or use time-based filters like Today, This Week, or Custom Range.

Points to be noted: 
  1. Emails are stored in the Outbox for 60 days
  2. If the sandbox is rebuilt, all Outbox emails will be deleted
  3. Emails associated with deleted records are also removed
  4. Even if the email template is deleted, the email itself remains visible
  5. Manual deletion of Outbox entries and email analytics are not supported in Sandbox
Outbox helps you scrutinize your emails before sending them to your customers. Whether it’s a missing field, a misfired condition, or a formatting glitch, you can verify everything so your live setup runs smoother.
