3 ways to onboard employees to Zoho One

Onboarding, equipping, and managing employees are all important parts of operating a business. As a unified user management interface, the Zoho One admin panel lets you do all this with ease. Let's examine the different ways you can onboard employees to Zoho One.

Adding users individually

This is the most common, and probably the most familiar, way of adding employees. This method is suitable for small businesses growing at a casual rate that only have to add a couple of users at a time. You can add a single user by clicking Add User in the admin panel's Users tab. Here's a detailed article explaining the steps involved.

Importing users manually

This method is more suitable for medium-sized businesses migrating their digital operations to Zoho One. Importing allows you to add all your employees (and their details) to Zoho One with just a few clicks. You can import your users by clicking  and then Import in the admin panel's Users tab. Here's a step-by-step guide for importing users.

Syncing users from AD automatically

If you have an extensive Active Directory (AD) footprint that you can't move away from, then AD sync is the best method for you. Our AD sync tool syncs your AD with Zoho One, enabling you to add employees in AD and administer them in Zoho One. Moreover, you can schedule periodic syncs so that the employees you add in the future get automatically onboarded to Zoho One. You can get started by clicking Download in the admin panel's Active Directory tab. Here are a few articles on installing and using the AD Sync tool.

In our next announcements, we'll talk more about adding, importing, and syncing users. Meanwhile, share your feedback in the comments and let us know what else you'd like to learn from us.

      • Feature update: Advanced security settings

We've previously written about how using security policies could be beneficial for admins. To enable you to better protect your organization, we've come up with a few additional settings for security policies in Zoho One that can be used to regulate your users' web sessions. What are web sessions? A web session refers to the period of time you stay signed in to your Zoho One account. You create a new web session every time you sign in to Zoho One (or any of its included apps), and this session exists
