Note: This post is only aimed at those who connected their Shopify store with Zoho Campaigns on or before October 1, 2022.
On October 1, 2022 Shopify upgraded the APIs that we've used to build your current Shopify-Zoho Campaigns integration. The APIs came with renewed policies, a deadline for apps to evaluate and migrate, and a notice of deprecation after the deadline.
After our evaluation, we've concluded that these changes are not compatible with our policy. But don't worry! We'll help you navigate this with a simple solution. We request that you implement it on or before June 15, 2023 for uninterrupted email marketing.
Before discussing it, let's learn what APIs are and why this move needs your attention.
The integration capabilities between two software applications are built on top of APIs. Think of an API as an intermediary thing that allows two applications to interact automatically and share data. For example: When someone purchases an item from your store, the APIs update the information inside Zoho Campaigns to launch your pre-configured follow-up email.
With Shopify's public APIs changed, we're requesting that you generate your store's APIs privately.
Shopify allows you—the admin of the store—to create private apps unique to your store. The private app lets you access your store's APIs and connect it to other platforms.
Here's a quick guide on the steps we want you to take on or before June 15, 2023:
Please refer to this document for details on how to create a Shopify private app.
We assure a smooth resumption of your email marketing as soon as you enter your private-app-based APIs. Our team of developers and experts can help you complete this process in no time. Simply write to us at support@zohocampaigns.com.
We thank you for your cooperation.
Regards,
