Better/Wider Selection of "Custom" Colors

For statuses in particular (Tasks and Projects), the pre-selected palette of colors is a strange combination of pastels with very little - in may cases - ability to distinguish between them.

Could we get either the ability to add custom colors ourselves, or at least a more vivid palette of colors with the normal red/green/yellow/orange/blue/white/black/etc. colors that many of us are used to?

One can only use so many variations of "blue/green" at a time after all....

EDIT TO ADD: Even the layout, on this site, of resources to the right of this post has nice vivid, distinguishable colors.  So obviously someone at ZOHO knows that's the ticket!

EDIT TO ADD2: Also, with the current selection of pastels, the white text is pretty low-contrast and tough to read for statuses.  So, being able to select both background and text color would be amazing!
