Bulk Updates and Untouched Records

Bulk Updates and Untouched Records

We have a field for the industry that the customer is in. Our initial upload of our database was done very poorly, and as a result we are forced to fix all kinds of things in the customer records. Right now, I need to add industries to a slew of companies. I can use bulk updates to do it, and I did. I was able to make every company that has the word "dental" "dentistry" "periodontal" etc. have it's industry field set to "dental".

There is a VERY bad side effect to this. Zoho marked EVERY record I pulled up as "touched". Now my salespeople cannot pull records that haven't been touched in X amount of days, because EVERY record has been touched! For the life of me, I cannot figure out why anyone would program this in such a way that a bulk update is considered a touch, as no calls were made, no emails were sent, no notes were entered... the customer has not been touched!

Either I need to know how to pull records that have no notes since (date) so I can pull them after a bulk update...

How can I do a bulk update without Zoho CRM deciding that all of the records I've updated have been touched?
