Cannot Connect with Exchange ActiveSync on Android

Greetings,
I am trying to configure my Motorola Droid Razr M running Android 4.1.2 on the Verizon network to sync email, calendar, and contacts with the Zoho Mobile Sync system.  I followed the instructions given here: http://zsync.zohosites.com/Android.html.  I enter all of my information including username and password.  Server = "msync.zoho.com", port = "443" (default).  I Accept all SSL Connections and leave the Domain blank (I have no domain so I just put "\survivorof73" in the box for "Domain\Username").  Then I hit next and a box pops up saying "Checking incoming server settings" followed shortly by another one that says "Can't connect to server."  Then it takes me back to the Account setup page without further explanation. 

I have checked and double-checked my account information and I have tried to connect both from the WIFI network and the 4GLTE network I am connected to.  Other apps on my phone have no issues downloading data so I do not think it is a connection issue. 

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
