Composite items inside of composite items; bill of materials needed

Hi Zoho and Everyone,

I am evaluating whether Zoho Inventory will work for my small business. I grow and harvest herbs and spices but also get from wholesalers. I use all these items to make herbal teas, but also sell them as individual items on my Shopify store and Etsy.

I discovered the composite item bundling and am wondering if I could get some assistance since there is no bill of materials:

Our herbal company's best selling tea is a sleepytime tea.

Sleepytime Tea can be purchased in three weights - 15 gram sample $5, 100 gram tea tin $15, 100 gram refill $12.

So I get that these would be a group, but Sleepytime is packaged differently for each weight: 15 grams a sample bag and stickers; refill is a bag with ink stamps; tea tin is a tin with sticker and seal.

Then there is the actual sleepytime tea. In making this I create a bulk batch of 500 grams from a recipe: 100 grams lavender, 50 grams Passion flower, 25 grams chamomile, 10 grams hawthorn, etc. Each of these ingredients are also sold separately for crafting, homemade lotions, beer additives, potpourri, etc. I make each as orders come in; on demand. This saves too much overstock and storage space.

So I entered all the ingredients and listed the price as per gram. I then made my Sleepytime Tea (bulk) recipe but the pricing went ridiculously high in the 20k values. This was as a composite item. Not sure what happened here ...

I tried using group because of the different weights but it did not work. And I cannot link to my "recipe" for the bulk tea.

Do I just create separate composite items for each weight? How do I link these?

Kinda lost ...
