Why is it so difficult to date filter across data sources?
I have two Creator forms that I have as data sources. Each has a date field. I can make a Summary Report that has columns from both forms as well as calculation columns that calculate values based on the columns from the combination of forms.
That all works fine.
But when I want to filter by date, I have to put two separate date filters, one for the data from each form. If I want to use the report in a dashboard, the Timeline Filter only works for one of the two data sources.
Support was pleasant, but basically said the only way to accomplish this was via SQL (I assume a query that reuslts in a single table).
That's a crap answer.
Creator is touted as a "low code" platform, and Analytics is the only way to do cross-form reporting from data inside of Creator. There's nothing "low code" about having to write SQL queries to do very basic reporting.
This is a consistent frustration of mine with many aspects of Zoho. The developers assume everyone knows how to code, so clunky, code-filled workarounds are viewed as reasonable substitutes for actual working solutions. It often feels like I've bought a car that requires me to be a skilled mechanic in order to make a simple trip to the store.
This is mostly a warning to others considering Creator and Analytics rather than asking for an answer (which I think I already have). However, if I've missed something, I would be very happy to be corrected.
