different 'projects' for each client, and inclusion on email notification?

Hi,

The way my business works is that I have a set of clients, and for each client a series of projects (running concurrently), and for each project a series of invoices, each invoice with various different 'items' on them (the item is a service I provide, and can be the same service for different jobs).  There is no way to include the 'project' name within zoho invoice, and so far I've been putting the name of the project in the 'description' field of each item, to make it clear to the client which project account the invoice should be connected to at their end.

visually my work flow looks something like this:

Client One
        Project One
              week 1          Invoice for Items A, B and C
week 2         Invoice for Items B and D
week 3        Invoice for Items A and D
        Project Two
week 1          Invoice for Item A
week 2         Invoice for Items A and C
              week 3        Invoice for Items B, C and D
        Project Three
week 1          Invoice for Items B and C
week 2         Invoice for Items A and D
week 3        Invoice for Items C and D

Client Two
        Project One
week 1          Invoice for Items D and C
etc etc...

In this example at the end of each week i need to send the first client three separate invoices, one for each project, detailing the work done on each individual project.

When I generate an invoice I have to put the 'project' name in the item description.  then, when I send an invoice, i have to manually enter the name of the project on the email template EVERY time, even though it's already in the first item 'description' placeholder, and I'd like to not have to do this.

What would be ideal would be having a 'projects' box on the 'customer details' tab, so each customer could have as many projects as required.  Then, when generating an invoice, if you select a customer that has multiple projects another drop down menu bar appears offering the available 'projects' for that customer.  That 'project' field then can be used as a 'placeholder' on the invoice template page AND the invoice notification page, thus allowing me to state the project on the invoice AND on the notification email.

A side benefit to this would be that zoho invoice reports could break down the 'customer' reports by 'project' too, so you could see income etc per project within the customer report (a cross-linked database).

Any thoughts on whether this is possible?

Thanks,

Matthew
