Difficulties with spreadsheet editing
The Zoho spreadsheet feature is great for display. I like how I can not only access it from a website, but I can also edit from the site. Since I don't care about others doing the same, I am not worried about people "stealing" it.
However, I have come across some non-user friendly aspects of the service.
First, no easy to access "undo" feature. I tried to move some of the data I already typed in to different cells, but I wanted to undo it. I couldn't find an undo option. Ctrl Z only changes one cell.
Normally, in Open Office or other programs I can do this by right clicking or going to a top menu set of options. Zoho doesn't have this it appears.
Another thing I tried was to merge cells. When I did this, I lost data from at least one of the cells. Obviously, I would want to undo this as well. Without seeing an easy way to merge cells and keep the data in both or all cells merged, I hoped to reload my file only to find that Zoho was keeping my changes and saved it even though I didn't click save.
This is a third aspect, I would like to "experiment" with it before I actually save it. Consider it like a "draft" option which we see in email services. You don't lose the changes, but they don't overwrite the last time you worked on the file.
I am doing all this because Zoho doesn't yet allow us to import spreadsheet files to overwrite the previous versions, which would keep the address the same when referenced from a website.
Right now, the only way to ensure I don't lose the data and make the appropriate changes is to do it from a program like Open Office, and then upload to Zoho, and finally change the address to the new file. The address change only involves me changing one number in sequence, "file-1" to "file-2" to "file-3", etc..
This I think is pointless and there is no need to do this. It seems like there would be an easy fix for this. Can't Zoho make it so the address stays the same, as long as I delete the previous one and upload a new one?
