We provide a taxi service and would like a dispatcher to be able to enter pick and drop of locations and determine pick up time, appointment time or if it's a will call trip. So we'd need clients, trips and facilities, and we'd like common addresses. We'd also need drivers and vehicles. We have 50-100 trips that we get in a access format that we'd like to import. We've been dispatching off excel. We need to gather pickup and drop off times and miles for each trip. We also need to know if they are group rides. Right now the drivers enter this on a java app on nextel phones. It would be nice to reduce driver input error with times or miles if possible. So each driver would have a view of only their trips and when are complete it would update the dispatch view. Dispatch view should filter by time of day, uncompleted trips, and driver. Dispatcher needs to know status of driver and trips. Also we'd want to plug in billing were we could have the pick price and miles calculate fare to be billed. Once we have these basics we could add on more like ideas of plugging in to maps or geo coding addresses. Tracking driver hours etc.
