Do journeys in Marketing Hub adhere to GDPR settings?

Since 99% of my customers are residing in the EU, obeying the GDPR law is crucial to my business. For sending a newsletter with Marketing Hub it's easy.: people who do not explicitly opt-in will not receive an e-mail with MH telling me that there is no GDPR consent.

But what about journeys in MH? Do they also adhere to GDPR?

I have recently activated the journey "birthday reminder" from the templates library and added some DOBs to my leads' data. Now I would like to make sure that my leads are not receiving any mails without their explicit GDPR consent.

Does MH obey GDPR settings for journeys, too?
