Our growing tech company--currently using several Zoho database solutions including Zoho Inventory--does some light in-house manufacturing and piece-part kitting prior to having a finished and ready-to-sell product.  While composite items are functionally working to manage this, we are running in to a growing problem in that line items and quantities associated to composite items cannot be modified once the composite item has been transacted in any way.  

Our products undergo regular R&D changes resulting in differences in the BOM or sometimes we simply source a new part for an existing build.  I understand that there is a work-around to inactivate an old composite item and rebuild as a new composite item, but this process is unreasonably time intensive, leads to a cluttered database of inactive lists with a loss of unified transaction history, does not address existing unfulfilled SOs that call for the old composite item, does not rectify finished goods stock levels without a manual adjustment, and other significant headaches.

Is this functionality planned for future versions of Zoho?  If so is there a rough timeline for implementation?  

If unaddressed this issue may present a severe enough limitation that we will need to seek a different database solution for ERP/inventory control.
