Dear Zoho Creator Team,
I'm writing to request a significant improvement to the Applications Usage report within Zoho Creator. Currently, the report displays various metrics, but it lacks the ability to drill down for deeper insights.
Current Limitations:
The Applications Usage report provides valuable data points; however, it doesn't allow users to investigate the specifics behind those metrics. For example, the report might show a high number of "External Calls" made today (e.g., 19,000/19,000). Unfortunately, there's no way to:
- Identify Specific API Calls: Understand which specific API calls contributed to the total count.
- Trace Call Origin: Determine the source of these calls within the application (e.g., specific functions or apps).
Desired Functionality:
We propose implementing a robust drill-down functionality within the Applications Usage report. This functionality could allow users to:
- Filter by Parameter: Refine the report by filtering on specific parameters like function names, applications, or timestamps.
- View Detailed Logs: Access detailed logs associated with the selected metric (e.g., external calls). These logs should display the following information: Specific API call details, Origin of the call within the application (function, app), Timestamp of the call etc.
Benefits of Enhanced Drill-Down:
Improved Monitoring: Enables us to effectively monitor and track the origin and purpose of external API calls and other usage metrics.
Problem Identification: Helps identify problematic areas within applications, such as functions or apps making excessive external calls.
Data-Driven Optimization: Provides granular data necessary for optimizing application performance and resource allocation.
Conclusion:
By implementing enhanced drill-down functionalities in the Applications Usage report, Zoho Creator would become a more powerful tool for application management, troubleshooting, and optimization. This feature would empower users to gain deeper insights into application usage, leading to better performance and resource utilization.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ram
