Evernote migration error message

Evernote migration error message

I've tried exporting individual notebooks from Evernote to html format, as instructed by the help dialog in Notebook. but every time I attempt to drop/open the folder containing the exported notes I get this error message:

COM.NOTEBOOK.UNSUPPORTED_FILE_FORMAT

Does the community have any idea why this is happening?
