Feature Request: Enhanced Booking Statuses & API Functionality

Dear Zoho Bookings Support Team,

We're reaching out to request two improvements to Zoho Bookings' management system:

1. Expanded Booking Statuses:

Currently, Zoho Bookings offers limited booking statuses (completed, canceled, no-show) which restricts our ability to accurately reflect the various stages of a meeting or appointment.

Request:

We propose the introduction of a more comprehensive set of booking statuses, allowing for greater customization. This could include options such as:

  • Approved: Client has confirmed the booking.
  • Waiting for Client Confirmation: Awaiting client response to a booking proposal.
  • Rescheduled: Booking has been rescheduled to a new date/time.
  • Tentative: Booking is provisionally confirmed and subject to change.

These additional statuses would provide more flexibility and clarity in managing our booking workflow. But the best thing will be to have a total flexibility here.

2. Improved API Functionality for Booking Statuses:

We've encountered limitations when managing booking statuses through the Zoho Bookings API. Specifically:

  • No-Show: The API currently prevents marking an appointment as "no-show" before the start time, resulting in the error message "cannot mark as no show. appointment not yet started." 

  • Cancellation and Completion: Similarly, attempting to modify a canceled booking to "completed" via the API results in the error "cannot mark as complete. appointment is already canceled."

Request:

We kindly request an update to the API functionalities to allow for:

  • Marking bookings as "no-show" before the designated start time.
  • Changing the status of a canceled booking to "completed" if necessary.

These enhancements would significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of our booking management processes through the API.

We believe these feature additions would provide greater flexibility and control for users like ourselves who rely heavily on Zoho Bookings for managing appointments. We appreciate your consideration of this request.
