Field value being set to blank

Users are reporting strange behaviour with the AGREEMENT form that contains an ASSET subform.

Here are the steps to create the behaviour
What I have found is that when you edit an agreement, the assets related to the agreement will have the ASSET TYPE set to empty. The view has a filter which results in seeing less entries. The strange thing is that I cannot recreate the issue from my developer account. I have used test accounts and seen other users recreate the issue. Both the AGREEMENT and ASSET form are shared to my domain so I don't think it's a permission issue. Also, I cannot recreate the issue with my account so I don't think it is a script issue either.

I have checked the code and cannot find references to where the ASSET TYPE is set to null or an empty string. Can you please investigate?
