Flexible working hours

Hi!

I am trying to make the Attendance function of Zoho People work for our company. Our policy is very simple: at the end of each month, you have to have

"8 hours x number of work days in the month"

number of hours.

It is totally up to you, if you skip a day, and make up for those hours later in the month. On the other hand, we also plan our attendance ahead, so that the management can see when we will be available. But of course, there can be deviations from the plan, that's OK too, but they must show in the reports.

I figured, shifts would be the way to go, since employees can modify their shifts on a day basis: that could be the plan phase.
I tried to create shifts for typical cases (like 9AM-5PM etc). But I cannot create a shift for the skipped day scenario (as in 0-hour shift). Is there a way to solve this?
