Headers and Footers - Now with more options!

Headers and Footers - Now with more options!

Headers and footers are a great way to make your documents look neat and professional. Whether you are creating a simple document or a complex business report, headers and footers helps you to format your documents exactly the way you want.

Zoho Writer now allows you to create documents with four different styles of Headers and Footers.

Same across entire document

You can insert a title, page number or an image to the first page which will reflect on every other page of your document. This comes in handy while you are preparing a formal contract or resume in which all your pages are to be numbered or a single title name or your company logo has to appear across your entire document.

Different first page

This style of header and footer is just perfect to create an unique first page, while the rest of your pages follow a different pattern throughout. For instance, when you need an unique front page with a bold title, your company logo or a distinct image, just choose this option.

Different Even and Odd Pages

You can set up different headers and footers to the alternate pages of your document. For e.g. if you are writing a book, you would want your book title on one page and the author's name on the other. Also while binding your documents, you would need your content to appear on the outer edge of the page so that it looks like a book.

Different first, even and odd pages

It is a combination of the 2nd and 3rd style Headers and Footers, where you can have an unique first page and a different set of alternate pages. This comes in handy when you are setting up a book and you need a front page with a distinct title and you would want to give different titles to your alternate pages like the title on one page and the author's name on the other.

How to add headers and footers?

Applying headers and footers to your documents is pretty straight forward and just a few steps away:

  1. Open a document.
  2. Go to Page Layout.
  3. Select Header/Footer from the sub menu.
  4. Choose any one of the styles from the drop-down.
  5. Now double-click on the header or footer space on the document and start editing them.
