How do recurring tasks work?

Hi,

I have created a number of monthly recurring tasks but when I tick to complete the task it doesn't seem to replicate for the following month. Just seems to complete like any other month.

How does this work?

I have a task set to repeat every 1 month on the 12th. When I tick it as complete I can't see it appear on March 12th.

Any help would be appreciated.
