How is everyone handling Inventory Counts?

How is everyone handling Inventory Counts?

Wondering how others are addressing the lack of an inventory counting feature? 

Currently we've been manually exporting the summary and then taking that data and manually importing it to a spreadsheet and cleaning it up so that the people in the warehouse can see how many items Inventory says we have while entering their counts and then getting notified if there's any variances. This allows us to have a record of what the counts were on a given date as well as have accountability in counting.

It's tedious and time intensive, so I'm wondering if others out there have come up with some clever solution to record monthly counts and compare that against system generated totals? Or something along those lines....
