How to complete Calculations from prior questions

I've added this:

${Q-A[SUM]}+${Q-T[SUM]}+${Q-AJ[SUM]}+${Q-BF[SUM]}+${Q-BU[SUM]}+${Q-CS[SUM]}+${Q-DU[SUM]}+${Q-EN[SUM]}

to a Heading/Description (text) question. I thought I had read that the result to this calculation would show when operators are used. Instead, it is displaying the entire expression, each variable sum and each operator with no total.
