I want to embed a newsletter signup form directly into an email template

I'm trying to include a signup form from MA directly into an email template using the embed code generated from the forms section. I've tried using the html code, and while the form does appear, it is not functional (fields can't be filled). This is the case when adding the website code from a long form. When using a compact-vertical form, it will appear correctly on the preview, but when testing the email, the form came out incomplete (cut almost in half).

Would it be possible to include the signup form directly on the email without having to use the extra step of clicking a button? Any ideas?
