Inserting Web Links to your Writer Docs?
Hi Folks,
Did you know that you can create a customized hyperlink to a writer document or a webpage? Zoho Writer provides an "Insert Web Link" feature using which you can:
# Create a customized hyperlink to a Writer document or a Web Page
# Create a hyperlink to a blank e-mail message
Here's how you can achieve the above task:
# Create a customized hyperlink to a Writer document or a Web Page
1. Select the text or image that you wish to display as hyperlink.
2. Click on the "Insert Web Link" button present on the 3rd row of the editor toolbar just to the left of "Insert Table" button. You can also use the keyboard shortcut key "Ctrl+K" to invoke this feature.
3. A pop-up with the heading "Insert/Modify Link" will appear on the editor screen displaying 3 tabs.
4. The default tab, URL, in the pop-up allows you to link to an existing Web Page. Enter the address of the web page, that you want to link, in the URL box. The selected text will appear in the box next to the "Text" heading. To customize the tooltip that appears when you rest the cursor over the hyperlink, enter the tooltip text in the "Title (tooltip)" box.
5. To open a document in a new window or in the same page you can choose from the options available in "Target" drop down list.
Follow the same process as mentioned above to create a hyperlink to a Zoho Writer document. You have to only click on the tab "Zoho Writer Document" and select a writer document from the "Document" drop down list. The address of the document will be automatically filled in the URL text box field.
# Create a hyperlink to a blank e-mail message
1. Click on the Email Address tab in the Insert/Modify link pop-up
2. Type the e-mail address that you want in the E-mail box.
3. Selected text that you have chosen for e-mail address will automatically appear in the Text box.
4. In the Subject box, type the subject of the e-mail message. Similarly, to customize the tooltip that appears when you rest the cursor over the hyperlink, enter the tooltip text in the box next to the "Title (tooltip)".
5. Select the type of target window from the list of options.
Do refer to the attached image for details.
Thanks,
Ahmed
