Introducing Advanced Line Break Options in Zoho Writer

Introducing Advanced Line Break Options in Zoho Writer

Line and Page break options allow you to control the way paragraphs split across pages. It can be a struggle to go through a large document and reformat paragraphs to avoid straggling lines at the top and bottom of the page. But with the new line breaking options, you can easily format paragraphs and avoid manual adjustments for each paragraph.

Zoho Writer introduces the following three line-breaking options:
  • Widows/Orphans Control:

Allows you to avoid keeping a single line of the paragraph at the top or bottom of the page. Instead, you can either move two lines of the paragraph up or down or shift the entire paragraph to the next page.

  • Keep Lines Together:

This option keeps the entire paragraph as one unit on a single page. When the option is enabled, and a paragraph won’t fit at the bottom of a page, it shifts the entire paragraph to the next page.

  • Page Break Before:

This option inserts a page break before the selected paragraph. The result is similar to when you enter Ctrl / ⌘+Enter forcing a page break before the paragraph.

To enable line break options, follow these steps:
  1. Select one or more paragraphs to enable the line break option.
  2.  In the Home tab, click the Line Spacing  icon and then click Line and Page Breaks.

  3. In the window, click the  Line and Page Breaks tab and check the appropriate option.

  4. Click Ok. The option will be applied to the selected paragraph(s).

Hope this will ease the process of creating and editing large documents. If you have any feedback, please leave them as comments below.
