Zoho One's newest feature roll-outs

Greetings to all Zoho One users out there!

We're excited to inform you about the new features unveiled in the Admin Panel of Zoho One recently. Here's a brief account of each of them.

Device Authentication:

Manage the desktop login of your device with just your Zoho One account's credentials by making Zoho One the sole authenticator of your device.

Once you install the authentication agent, your device will start getting managed by Zoho One and therefore, you can use your Zoho password to access it. If your user's device is offline when you force any actions like password reset, device activation, deactivation, etc., scheduling will be triggered, and when the device is back online, the actions scheduled earlier will ideally be implemented at once. Also, after agent installation, the password of the device can be done directly from Zoho Accounts.

Mobile Device Management (MDM) is already part of Zoho One and it's concerned with controlling devices remotely, like imposing restrictions, distributing apps, enforcing policies, etc., Now with the launch of Device Authentication feature, all such actions can be administered with just the Zoho password, thereby largely eliminating password fatigue.

As this feature makes your log-in more centralized, it enhances the security of your device as well as your data in Zoho apps. Learn in detail about the feature.

Custom roles:

Frame a particularized role by setting privileges of your choice to it, and then assign it to users whom you don't want to do anything beyond what it allows.

A Zoho One admin may not necessarily need access to all the parts within the Admin Panel. For instance, a sysadmin handles certain processes like password reset, device management, and app distribution. A HR manager would oversee employees' onboarding and offboarding. So permissions and restrictions can be set to a role to meet the specific needs of your users.

To put it another way, you can set desired attributes to a role before assigning users, thus saving you the trouble of adding users and later allotting permissions and apps individually. Thus, custom roles help ensure the users have only what they need to perform their functions. Refer to the article linked, to understand custom roles better.

Both of these features have been part of Zoho Directory for quite some time, and now this is rather an extension of what is available in Zoho Directory, to Zoho One.

Jot down your queries as comments, and we'll keep you posted!

Thanks,
Zoho One.

      • How to Add Users to your Organization in ZohoMail?

A better clarity so you can create other users to start using Zoho Mail. You can directly Add Users from the Control Panel to your Organization. You can invite users with the existing email address. If the person (user) already uses ZohoCRM, then you can import users from Zoho CRM. You can also import them using a .csv file. (if you are planning to add them in Bulk)  In this topic, We will be discussing on how to Add and Invite users only.  The Import options are self explanatory. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
