Introducing Org Fonts in Zoho Writer

Introducing Org Fonts in Zoho Writer

Hey Zoho Writer users!

We're excited to share that you can now add custom fonts (from web fonts with publicly accessible URLs) using Zoho Writer's Org Fonts. This option allows all users across your organization to use the custom font without the hassle of manually installing the custom font on every user device manually. Org Fonts also makes it easy to adhere to your style guide and ensure consistency.

Notes:
  • Custom fonts and their variants can be added only from the Zoho Writer Admin panel.
  • Only admins can add and manage custom fonts.
  • Only TrueType Font (TFF) formats can be added in Zoho Writer.
  • Fonts must be installed on your organization's servers to be available to your users.

How to add custom fonts in Zoho Writer

1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of your document and click Admin Panel (it will open in a new tab).
2. Go to Font Settings in the Configuration section.
3. Click Add Font and enter the URL for a font hosted on your organization's servers in the Add Font from Web dialog.
4. Once the font loads, add a name for the font and choose its weight.
Note: You can also choose Italic style for the font by checking the Italic checkbox.
5. Click the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions for adding the font and click Add. The font will be added successfully and will be displayed under the Custom Fonts tab.

Managing custom fonts

Once you add a custom font in Zoho Writer (using a web font with a publicly accessible URL), you can:

  • Add or delete styles or variants (like italics) of the font.
  • Delete the font from Zoho Writer.
You can refer to the detailed step by step instructions in the user guide to manage your custom fonts in Zoho Writer.

How to use custom fonts  or set them as default fonts

Using a custom font

Users can select the new font the same way they usually choose a font: Simply click the hamburger icon, and select the font from the list under Font in the Format tab.

Setting a custom font as the default font

To set a custom font as the default font for all their documents, users can click the Default button located under the Font section, and select the Set as default for all new documents option.
