Hello!
My company is looking to automate our open orders (we still use paper…) and has tasked me with finding a solution. I have worked with Smartsheet and ventured down a few other platforms that have not worked. (Our POS is pretty limited and does not have this feature or any hopes to API in the future.) I want to explain what we are trying to accomplish and see if it is even possible.
1. We are looking to have a Kansan view on tablets that each employee will have.
2. We will load all of the items from Excel and some orders will have multiple items under the same invoice number. Is there a way to automatically create a parent row with certain information and group the items under it?
3. We want an easy view of the following fields (for Parent): 1. Customer Name, 2. Invoice #, 3. # of Items, 4. Status (cumulated to display all child status’) (for Children): 1. Item #, 2. QTY, 3. U/M, 4. Status, 5. Modified by, 6. Backorder Qty, 7. Notes
4. When imported from Excel we want the rows to update (we will have a master key when imported but that field should be hidden)
5. Control permissions for each field (Ex. employees can’t edit “Item #” field, but admins can, hide certain fields from certain people etc.)
6. If something has a Backorder quantity greater than 0 we want it to be copied to a new project that displays only Backorder items. When we make edits in the Backorder project it should update the original project. Once ALL of the items under an order are marked as “Complete” we want the entire order to be sent to a “Closed Orders” project.
I am not sure if the above are possible, but would love to be informed in order to make the decision on whether or not to proceed with this application. Thanks so much!
