Item kitting combining: Inventory items (current composite items) Service items, and non inventory items into a single sku

We desperately need to either be able to add services to a composite item, or we need a new item type/assembly kit that includes combining the current composite items as a stock inventory item with other services that can be put together with the composite inventory items.

Some systems like Quickboks let you build product groups that combine any items you want: parts, labor, subtotal lines, percentage lines, etc...

Other systems have stock tracking composite items like zoho inventory now does, that are tracking stock inventory, but those "composite" inventory stock items can be combined with services and other custom non inventory items and charges of any kind, to create a new single product group line for sale.

Here is real life,

You build a "bike" to sell. The bike consist of these types of costs:

  1. Inventory items, the frame, handle bars, wheels and so on, items that you want to track inventory for.
  2. Services, The production of those parts may also include labor for things like paint, assembly, production of any of the individual parts.
  3. Non Inventory items; Misc hardware screws nails, supplies, cleaning, packaging, and other items that you do not want to track inventory for, and so on, but need to include in the price of the bike.
All of those things (costs) make up the item being sold. "The bike". We need to be able in the back end to combine all of those collective costs into a single item sku that we can sell as what it now is: a single product on the quote, sales order, invoice.that says "bike", but tracks all of the costs correctly for the inventory parts and non inventory parts and services it took to produce that bike.

This need is monumental. 95% of the items we sell are these types of items, and as much as we want to use zbooks/inventory,. Without this ability we are stuck with other solutions. We have been following the development of Zoho Books/Inventory for a couple years. Super excited to hear the plan that will finally allow for small b2b mfg distributors to be able to use Zoho for things other than just crm.
