My customer (and it's not the 1st one with this problem) is a company with 5 employees in the office, and 40 technicians in the field.
The 5 Office employees would like to use Zoho One because they will use the CRM, Projects, WorkDrive and so on.
For the technicians in the field, they need a solution to keep track of work hours, as well as vacation time and absences. Zoho People would be perfect for that, because there the technicians could track these working times via their cell phones.
But now there is a licensing problem, because the Employee Profiles do not give the technicians access to the working time tracking via cell phone. So a Zoho One license would have to be purchased for those technicians as well - just to use that one feature in People - so that the technicians can be organized.
That means for this Lead/Interested now:
5x Zoho One license à 37 Euro/month = 2'220 Euro / Year (Office Coworkers).
40x Zoho One license à 37 Euro/month = 17'760 Euro/Year (Technicians in the field)!!!
Just to be able to record the working hours, they would have to pay 18'000 Euro/Year! The technicians do not have a laptop or PC and never work on it.
This exact situation has now been the reason for several prospective customers to completely decide against Zoho as a company.
Something must be changed here absolutely at the license model, because that is not explainable, why for technicians in the field a complete Zoho One license must be taken!
If the company would choose the stand-alone solution, then they would have to pay 2 Euro/month/user, so for the 40 technicians 960 Euro. Any company would have accepted that immediately.
Is there any plan to change this situation?
