In the previous post, we learned about identifying the signup form that is visited the most.
In the final post of this series, we we'll learn how to identify contacts who enter the mailing list through a specific signup form and then how to send a welcome email to them.
First, you must add a tracking text to your signup form. After adding a tracking text to your signup form, you can map it to a custom field in your mailing list so that you can identify the contacts who enter through the signup form.
How to add tracking text to your signup form
In the signup form report screen, under the Tracking code report section, click Customize Tracking Text and enter the text in the Tracking text pop up.
How to map tracking text to a custom field
Select the signup form and click Show advanced options. Next, click Map tracking text to field. In the Map Tracking Text to a Field dialog, select the field name. You can also click Add Custom Field to add a new custom field.
Jason wanted to identify contacts who enter the mailing list through a particular signup form so he could send a welcome email to them. Jason configured the tracking text field and assigned a custom field in the mailing list. He then created a workflow and configured it to send a welcome email to each contact who enters the mailing list through the signup form.
