I've spent the last month trying to build a Custom Solution within Zoho Developer. Unfortunately, I've come to find out that Zoho Support and the Zoho Developer team don't truly understand their own product offering. It's my hope that someone who works at Zoho will read this and try to educate & elevate others internally so that this doesn't happen to any other zoho customers in the future.
ISSUE
The team does not understand the difference between the Rebranded Mobile App and a Custom Solution. The rebranded mobile app is supposed to allow you to get your web application in a downloadable app form from the IOS and Android stores. A Custom Solution is supposed to be a completely different offering, one that is designed so that you can create and sell a SaaS solution to non-zoho customers at a flat monthly rate. This is wildly different from the Rebranded Mobile App option, yet they don't seem to be able to understand that.
Zoho needs to make it very clear to everyone that they no longer offer the "Custom Solution" option, the beta was shut down in 2020 and never reopened, and they need to remove the documentation from their sites.
Zoho is an amazing platform, but the support has left us wondering if this might not be the best long term solution for a small service business our size (30+ employees).
