New in Writer: Create personalized documents with Bigin!

We're excited to announce that Bigin now integrates with Zoho Writer as a data source for mail merge templates. This opens up new possibilities for generating personalized invoices, contracts, emails, letters, and other documents. Streamline your processes and save time by automatically populating your templates with data from Bigin. You can create personalized documents in bulk within minutes.

 

With this integration, you can:

 

  • Generate personalized emails, letters, and documents in bulk for your Bigin leads and contacts.

  • Easily add product specifications from your subforms to a document and apply them in table cells, rows, or columns.

 

Create merge templates with Bigin:

 

Consider Zylker Solutions, a hypothetical consulting firm that generates client invoices using Zoho Writer. The firm uses Writer's merge fields to add customer-specific details to each invoice, such as name, address, organization name, and invoice date, and to map the fields in Bigin to the document.

 

Using a single template, the firm generates personalized invoices and emails them to clients, while ensuring consistency and improving productivity.

 

Steps for creating invoices in Writer:

 

A. Create a merge template in Zoho Writer

 

1. Go to writer.zoho.com and click Create New

2. Choose Merge Template under Automation Templates and click Create from Scratch

            3. Create your merge template as an invoice

 

B. Configure Bigin and add the required fields

1. Click the hamburger menu on the left and click Automate

2. Under Select the data source, choose Bigin and select your desired module.
            3. Add the appropriate fields from your Bigin module.

      C. Preview and schedule merge and output options

 

1. Click Preview Merge to see how the invoice will appear.

2. Set your merge trigger as Manually or On Trigger under When to Merge

3. Choose the output option, Merge & Send via Email, under Choose Output. Add the customer's email address and a subject in the pop-up that appears and click Save.
      4. Click Run Merge. The merge will be initiated and customers will receive their invoices as emails.

 

Note:

 

  • This integration is available to all Bigin editions.

  • All users in a Bigin organization can create merge templates in Zoho Writer.

  • Users of Writer's Free edition will receive 200 free credits/month/org. Paid edition users will receive 1,000 free credits/month/org.

  • Each merge will consume 1 credit. For example, if you send a document to five customers for signing, then five credit points will be deducted from your account.

  • Users can buy additional merge credits. You can find more details on how to purchase additional credits here.
