New in Zoho Sheet: Strikethrough and other enhancements

The latest update of Zoho Sheet features the following enhancements.

1. Strikethrough:
Zoho Sheet now supports the ability to set the 'Strikethrough' format to cells.  This can be used in cases where you want to mark a task as completed in a task list spreadsheet or to eliminate a few options from a list. Here is a screenshot demonstrating its usage.



2. Chart and Image object enhancements:
Chart and Image objects objects now use the common UI component used for Buttons. Selecting and acting upon these objects are now similar to the Button objects. Various keyboard shortcuts are available to move/position these objects on the spreadsheet and to align them to the grid. Here are the shortcuts:
  • Click / Ctrl+Click on the object will select/focus the object.
  • Arrow keys are used to move the object in the desired direction.
  • Ctrl+Arrow keys are used to snap the left/top side of the object with the adjacent column/row.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Arrow keys are used to snap the right/bottom side of the object with the adjacent column/row.
  • Escape key is used to return the focus to the active cell in the spreadsheet.
  • While you are dragging a button using your mouse, Escape key is used to cancel the operation.
  • The Tab and Shift+Tab keys are used to navigate to the next/previous object starting from the top most object.
  • F2 on the button object takes you to the Edit mode.
Here is a short video on how you can align your images quickly using the above shortcuts. We believe these will be useful when you create a spreadsheet with lot of such images/charts/buttons.



3. Freeze Top Row and Freeze First Column:
Support for 'Freeze panes'  has been available for quite some time now. We have now added the ability to quickly freeze the top row or freeze the first column from the 'More' menu on the toolbar.


4. Share Invitation Email now in 11 languages:
You can now send the Share inivitation email in 11 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
